Too Faced | Cat Eyes Palette

Welcome to another beauty post!
This time a more flirty look just around the corner for the holidays.
Here's today's obsession, the Cat Eyes.

Recently, I decided to get my hands on the Cat Eyes palette. I especially love the packaging element; hard case with leopard prints all over which makes it travel friendly. Also, the colors are all wearable and buildable.

Turn a day time look to night time just using this palette itself.

And inside... let's see

... there are 9 eyeshadows which 3 of the colours are able to be used wet/dry. I'm never a fan of wet eyeshadows but I will try it out the next time I use this palette. Colours range from neutral to purple tones and also a matte black.

A closer look at the colours. There's at least 2 matte eyeshadows ( Meow & Panther) whereas the rest have shimmers and/or sparkly.

Now let's start with the swatches

Purrr - white-beige shade with frosted finish. Texture of this shade is smooth and pay-off was good.

Tiger's Eye - Bronzy brown with copper undertones and a frosted finish. Texture is smooth and has excellent pigmentation.

Leopard - dark brown with gold sparkle. Pigmentation is excellent but texture is a little powdery.

Meow - light neutral soft cream shade with matte finish. Excellent pigmentation and texture is soft but a little powdery when swatched. Appears soft and smooth when applied on the brow bone.

Pussy Cat - Lilac with shimmer. The colour pay-off was a little lighter and needed to be applied/patted a few times. Texture is slightly powdery.

Jungle Love - deepened plum shade with shimmer. It is powdery when applied to the eyes and you'll get fall outs from this shade. The pigmentation is very intense and need a lot of blending.

Kitten - light pink with white base and is satin-matte finish. Colour pay-off is good but is very powdery.

Kitty Glitter - light blue sparkling glittery finish but appear very sparkly on the eyes without seeing the blue undertones. I get fall outs using this shade and my under eye was a little sparkly after a few hours.

Panther - dark matte black. Pigmentation is good and I tried swatching this wet and colour pay-off is excellent compared to dry.

Now onto the looks I created using Cat Eyes, definitely a simple & wearable look mixing shades of browns with purple.

Eyeshadows used are Meow (brow highlight), Tiger's Eye (all over lid), Kitty Glitter (all over lid on top of Tiger's Eye), Jungle Love for the outer corner & Pussy Cat lower lash line.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture

Hello! This is my latest YSL purchase during the L'Oreal Private Sale that I went. These are the Rouge Pur Couture but I believe the shades are either limited edition or permanent (am not too sure) because when I Google for the particular shades I got, I couldn't find any and it is not even available online.

I will just go through the review and you can try and ask the sales person over at YSL in ION if you like any of the 3 shades I mentioned. These lippies are great for the holiday; I got all 3 in red hues but with different undertones.

YSL is of course the higher end and pricier range of lipsticks but It's all worth it when I got this on sale. At the end of the day, the quality of the lipstick is what matters. If you are into high end make-up products and would like to try YSL, I definitely will recommend it. It's a value for money especially when it comes to the packaging! This is what you'd expect from Yves Saint Laurent! I'm in awe for the packaging too! Haha!

First up are the swatches. I got 2 lipsticks and 1 glossy stain. During the time when I had to choose the shade, I was really indecisive in choosing and whether I should get more glossy stain or lipstick.

The glossy stain has a sticky substance and is glossy. It does not appear matte on my lips and gives that sheer and glossy look like when you apply lipgloss. It has a great staying power but although it appears to be glossy, I'd recommend you to moisturize your lips first before applying any lip product. The stain effect is rather persistent too.

As for the lipsticks, this is by far the best lipstick ever! It is hands down the longest wearing lipstick I've ever used other than M.A.C (but they are only long lasting when it comes to matte lipsticks). It is very smooth and glides on my lips perfectly and is a matte/satin finish. It appears to be satin when you first apply it but feels a little bit silky matte after a while and it is NOT drying at all. Personally to me, I will definitely repeat my purchase. :)

Glossy stain - 24

Sale price - $30
Original Singapore price - $48

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review & Swatches

Hello beauties!

Today I'll be sharing with you my thoughts on the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. Truth is, this is my first time trying the product. I have been wanting to try this out but just didn't have the chance 'cos I'm more to MAC (since idk how many years ago). Ever since my first purchase (Prague) from a Carousell seller, I definitely told myself that I've got to get this in different shades! And I did.. 4 of them. Haha.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is very creamy and has a dry to matte formula. It stays on my lips for a few hours but had to re-touch the stains on my lips after eating or drinking. I love how matte formula works and they stay on the lips the longest time compared to sheen or frost lipsticks.

Since they are creamy, I personally think the product is very mousse-ish and has a creamy texture compared to matte lipsticks (chalky texture) or liquid lip glosses.

Here are the swatches. Hope this helps in giving you an idea on which shade to get. :)

Antwerp:
Nude coral shade (but in this picture it appears to be pinkish? Or is it just me?)

Prague:
Mid tone mauve shade (used this for my Korean Makeup Look on prev post)

Morocco:
Orangey red shade

Amsterdam:
True red. More of the cool red shade.

Addis Ababa:
Bright pink shade

Individual swatches on my lips. Sorry if the color didn't turn out well due to lighting and HP camera. I tried my best to take the picture using natural lighting.

Antwerp

Prague

Morocco

Amsterdam

Addis Ababa - The color wasn't showing well on my camera hence asked my BF to take a picture of me wearing this lip cream when we met. It's supposed to be a dark pink color but it looks lighter on my lips and is definitely not showing the true pink color that is on the packaging even when I applied on my lips.

Out of the 5 lip creams, I'd definitely use Prague and Amsterdam more compared to the other 3. But occasionally I will use Antwerp for a soft look or Morocco to spice up my look and get that orangy tangy look.

Korean Makeup Look

ANNYEONGHASEYO!

Welcome back to my blog. A month ago, I decided to do something different since my everyday makeup look is normal. That's when I thought of doing a Korean Makeup Look. It took me some time to do this because it is not easy to do a Korean look since they have different features from mine and their makeup style is different too.

Their eyebrows, eye makeup look, foundation and many more! Haha. I literally had to Youtube for Korean makeup look to get an inspiration and roughly learn their makeup techniques. Not easy I must say..

Before I start, I'd like to say thanks for being my loyal readers/subscribers and I will update my blog as often as I can. If you happen to have any looks you'd like me to do or even products that you want me to review, kindly send me an e-mail along with pictures or description(s) of the look. I'm open to any kind of looks but of course, I will try my best. I can't guarantee the after results. Haha!

EYEBROWS:
Really tried to duplicate their Korean style brow, thick straight eyebrows. The shape & color is definitely different from my usual look if you noticed.
Product used: Milani Easybrow Automated Pencil in Natural Taupe

EYEBALLS:
All shadows used are from my Naked Palette.

Inner tear duct: Virgin
Eyelid: Sin
Top lashline: Darkhorse (smudged with a brush)
Top lashline: Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero (blend with Darkhorse)
Lower lashline: Darkhorse and Sin
Mascara: 3CE I'm Good Mascara

FACE:
Since the in-trend for their makeup look is dewy, I used Maybelline's Pure BB Mineral, BB Watergel. This gives me the glowy dewy skin. After which, I only dab minimal powder on the outer area of my face. Be sure not to powder too much especially around your T-zone area. That's where the most dewy effect should be.

CHEEKS:
The Balm Cheek & Lip Cream in Pie

LIPS:
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Praque

That's all ladies! Till my next post, MUAH!

Halloween look | Kitty in Disguise

Here's another look that I did. Very easy! First, you do your normal makeup routine but only apply thicker blusher or even better, use a pink blusher to brighten the "whiskas" area. You can improvise yourself on how you want this look to be and you can even make the nose pinkish like some other cats but since my "Baby" has black nose, I tried to do a similar look to his. :)

I even conceal my brows and make it higher not like my natural/everyday eyebrow just so I can blend more colors above my crease but the color is not showing up here cos technically, my camera sucks or perhaps the lighting. :/ Be generous with the highlight at your inner tear duct and to make sure to sharpen that too so that you have this cat eye effect eyes.

Here's a picture with my Hitler. Haha. He was given this nickname when I brought him to a Pet Fair sometime this year and he was adored by many people and eventually they called him Hitler. Why? It's because of his black nose. They said it looked like Hitler's moustache. hahahha. I cracked up hearing that and thank goodness he's not like Hitler! ;p

So what do you think about this look? :)

Halloween Makeup | Broken

Hi! I know this is such a late post but I'd like to show more of this look here. As I mentioned on my instagram, this is actually the first time I'm doing this look and I realised that the lines were too thick because when a mirror breaks, they tend to have slim/shard edges. I think I can improve more on this. Haha.. Luckily it didn't look like a cobweb! >.<

Basically I used a liquid liner to map out the lines and shade them to make it thicker etc and if I make a mistake, I will just use a cotton bud with a tiny amount of makeup remover and erase off the marked lines and sharpen it using concealer.

Quite an easy look but not as easy as you think. You have to make it realistic which I think I still need to improve on. So that's it! Hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Basic Neutrals x Anastasia Beverly Hills

As always, I've been using Neutral shades and that's one of my basic makeup look. I never like doing any fancy eye look using bright or non other than neutral shades except for when it's for my blog and  when I am not going out (purely for blog).

Recently, I purchased Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade and I absolutely LOVE this product! Ever since I got my hands on the Beauty Express Brow Powder (before trying the Dipbrow Pomade), I have been using it almost every single day without fail and did not even bother switching to other product(s) such as my Artistry Automatic Brow Pencil, Maybelline and/or Sleek Brow Pencil.

BUT....... once I tried the Dipbrow Pomade, I told myself, this is the one!! This is it! Haha...  What I meant was, Diprow Pomade gives me the shape of my eyebrow better compared to using powder and somehow to me, Dipbrow Pomade applies lighter product on my eyebrow compared to the powder. *shrugs shoulder* Well, according to me. :)

Dipbrow Pomade tend to take lesser brow drawing time compared to powder. Trust me, it ever took me 20 mins to draw my brow using my Beauty Express Brow Powder. Idk why but yeah.. it just happened. The only con that I am worried about is whether the product will dry up easily just like gel liners (which dried up like solid). Shall probably wait a few months and see how it goes. I really hope it won't dry up easily.. Like, that whole pot.

Another thing I'd like to rave about the Dipbrow Pomade is that once you apply the product on your brow, it sticks like glue! It lasts all day and it's smudge proof! AMAZINGGG! *thumbs up*

Products used for this look (eyeball):

- Sleek Ultra Matte V2 - Paper Bag ( crease)
- Sleek Ultra Matte V2 - Villain ( Outer crease)
- Sleek Ultra Matte V2 - Flesh ( blend )
- M.A.C Penultimate Liner

Tips to Sweat Proof Make-up

Even if you're not getting soaked or crying under the hot sun, the best thing you need is definitely a WATERPROOF product especially for the eyes. The key to a Sweat Proof Make-up is your foundation. Try and find something that has SPF in it or is meant for this hot weather such as Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Products that has SPF in it protects your skin from the sun and since I went to River Safari, I definitely need to do a  Sweat Proof Make-up on myself which I did! Now let's get started with my tips. Or should I say; I think they are quite Sweat Proof as it does for me. Hah!

First things first, I applied a base and my base is L'oreal True Match BB in Gold BB. I applied a tiny amount enough to cover any imperfections and blend it well using my brush. This helps to absorb the second layer that I will be applying next and prevent the makeup from smudging or wiped off unless you use a make-up remover.

As mentioned, next, I will be applying my ALL TIME FAVORITE Farmasi CC Cream. Apply a generous amount and if you want more coverage, you can apply 2 layers of this. Usually I apply only 1 layer and blend them wellllll... The key is; BLENDING! ;) Now you're almost done. You may apply concealer if you think you need extra coverage especially under those eyes but I don't. I'm never a fan of concealer (they crease too much).

After which, I use the fluffiest brush (RT Blush Brush) to apply powder on all over my face and neck to set the products on my face. Be sure not to apply too much else you'll look like an old lady with lots or wrinkles due to the creasing from the powder and makes your skin super dry! Again, be generous. Not greedy!

Basically these two steps are the key to my Sweat Proof Make-up. Easy isn't it? I am not sure whether this apply to all kinds of skin types but I do have a combination of dry & oily skin and this works perfectly fine. I never touch up my makeup but I just pat off the excess oil on my T-zone area with a tissue.

Not forgetting WATERPROOF Mascara and eyeliner if you don't want to look like a Panda alright! All the best!

Products Used:

L'oreal BB Cream
Farmasi CC Cream
Milani Face Powder 03
Majolica Majorca Waterproof Mascara
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Expert in Brunette
UD Naked Flushed Blush Trio in Native
Lip Balm (can't recall the brand)

My Favorite: M.A.C Lipsticks

Finally, I am back with another post. Have been busy lately.. Alright! The latest post is about My Favorites: M.A.C Lipstick and here, I will be showing you my 6 favorite shades from M.A.C and this can definitely be an idea for those who is uncertain about which color to get and whether you should get matte ones, sheer or satin or dark colors etc.

For me, I prefer a matte based lipstick because matte lipsticks usually last way longer than non-matte lipsticks. To start with, M.A.C has different types of base for their lipsticks such as cremesheen, lustre and satin. I will usually get the color that I want and not bother about whether I should get matte or cremesheen or amplified although matte works the best for lasting issues.

It depends on individual. If you prefer only matte lipsticks, go ahead. Ok, enough of my babbling and below are the swatches of the 6 lipstick shades that I adore and applied the most on my lips. It wasn't planned but surprisingly, there are 3 neutral and 3 dark/bright shades. I'm definitely in between. Hehe..

Left (top to bottom):
Morange - Amplified
Faux - Satin

Center (top to bottom):
Viva Glam V - Lustre
Speak Louder - Cremesheen

Right (top to bottom):
Ruby Woo - Matte
Shy Girl - Cremesheen

From left to right:
Speak Louder, Shy Girl, Ruby Woo, Viva Glam V, Morange, Faux

If you have any queries about the different types of lipsticks M.A.C carries and what does the Amplified/Satin/Lustre stands for or what is/are the best shade for beginners, do not hesitate to contact me via the Contact Form and I will be glad to reply any of your doubts/question(s). (:

Till my next post,
